I became a psychotherapist because I am passionate about helping people reclaim their best lives, especially those who have faced deep emotional challenges. With extensive experience working with individuals who have been victimized by narcissistic relationships, chronic trauma, and difficult life circumstances, I understand how damaging these dynamics can be—often leaving people feeling isolated, powerless, and disconnected from their own needs. In attempts to cope, many turn to alcohol, drugs, or hypersexuality, trying to find relief or a sense of control. I believe in every person’s capacity for growth and change, and my goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their inner selves, build resilience, and regain control of their lives. Rooted in my strong Christian faith, I engage in a compassionate, loving manner, using humor and positivity to lighten the path toward healing, freedom, and the ability to form healthy, fulfilling relationships.
I have extensive training in trauma-based treatment modalities, domestic violence, and anger management, which allows me to deeply understand and support those who have faced narcissistic abuse and other forms of physical, sexual and emotional trauma. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from a range of evidence-based techniques that are customized to meet each client’s unique needs. I prioritize creating a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can safely explore their emotions, work through feelings of shame and guilt, and rebuild their sense of self. My goal is to help clients develop healthier patterns for navigating life’s challenges and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I hold a Doctorate degree in psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and have completed extensive training in violence treatment and trauma-informed care. As a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience, I specialize in individual therapy, particularly for those navigating the aftermath of difficult and painful life transitions, such as abusive or narcissistic relationships. My focus is on helping clients who may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck regain their sense of self and move forward with confidence. By providing a compassionate and non-judgmental environment, I support clients in exploring their emotions, building resilience, and developing practical strategies to create a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Life’s value is most clearly understood when seen through the lens of life’s challenges. Sometimes, gaining this perspective requires the guidance of someone who possesses both heart and patience, someone who can nurture you as you uncover and understand that value. I have the heart, patience, and skills needed to support you as you explore your life’s trials, the value of your experiences, and how to harness them effectively.
I am dedicated to meaningful interactions with mature individuals who are ready to face life’s deepest challenges. Through the art of empathetic listening, I build a strong connection with each client, guiding them toward acceptance, inner strength, and actionable change. Using evidence-based practices, I believe in the transformative potential within everyone to move beyond their past. Together, we will embark on a journey toward growth and fulfillment.
My therapeutic approach is built on extensive training in areas like domestic violence, high-conflict parenting, and anger management. At the core of my practice are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), two evidence-based approaches recognized for their effectiveness. CBT helps clients identify and modify faulty thinking patterns, while DBT provides practical skills for emotional regulation and problem-solving. By integrating these methods, I empower clients with the tools necessary to navigate life’s challenges and achieve meaningful change.
My commitment is rooted in empathy and understanding, and I work collaboratively with clients to foster positive transformation. Together, we can embark on a path toward healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life
My passion for psychology and helping others began many years ago. I pursued my formal education in psychology, with a focus on industrial/organizational psychology, at Southern California Seminary. This educational journey gave me a strong foundation and a deep understanding of the complexities of human behavior across various contexts. Over the past twenty-five years, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations through roles with the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services, which allowed me to connect with and support vulnerable individuals from children to seniors.
Currently, I have completed my formal education at Southern California Seminary and am preparing for licensure in the state of California. As part of my training, I have the privilege of working under the mentorship of Dr. Paula Maness, Psy.D. (PSY23787), whose expertise has significantly shaped my therapeutic approach.
